Welcome to chok.booking, a Progressive Web Application (PWA) developed and operated by Sachok Barbershop. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. By using chok.booking, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application.

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

When you register or use chok.booking, we may collect:

• Secret word (upon customer and admin registration)
• Profile photo (if uploaded)
• Appointment history and booking preferences

2.2 Business & Operational Data

For barbershop owners and staff accounts, we collect:

• Staff login credentials (username and password), which are set and managed by the barbershop administrator.
• Barbershop name, branch details, and location information
• Service listings and pricing
• Barber profiles and profile photos
• Work gallery images (photos of completed grooming services)
• Barbershop and branch photos
• Daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly sales figures and reports
• Customer visit histories and appointment records
• Subscription status and payment history

2.3 Payment Information

chok.booking supports QR code-based payments. In connection with this feature, we collect:

• QR code payment references and transaction identifiers
• Payment confirmation records and transaction timestamps
• Total transaction amounts linked to individual bookings
• Subscription payment records for barbershop operator accounts

We do not store full banking credentials, card numbers, or full payment account details. Payment processing is facilitated by third-party providers subject to their respective privacy policies.

2.4 Automatically Collected Data

When you access chok.booking, we may automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system, and browser information
• App usage data and session logs
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your user account and bookings
• Enable barbershop operators to manage their branches, services, and staff
• Process and confirm appointments
• Manage free trial periods, grace periods, account restrictions, and subscription status
• Generate business analytics and reports (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly sales summaries)
• Send appointment reminders, trial expiry notices, and subscription notifications
• Display barbershop profiles, service menus, gallery photos, and barber listings
• Process QR code payment references and maintain transaction records
• Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Comply with applicable Malaysian legal obligations

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4.1 Between Barbershop and Customers

Customer booking details (name, phone number, appointment time) are shared with the relevant barbershop branch solely to fulfil your booking.

4.2 Service Providers

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform, including cloud hosting providers, SMS/email notification services, payment processors, and analytics tools. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by Malaysian law, court order, or governmental authority, including under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Business data including sales records and customer histories may be retained for up to 7 years for financial and legal compliance. Data belonging to Restricted operator accounts is retained during that period and restored upon reactivation. Permanently deleted accounts are subject to our standard retention schedule.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure cloud storage with access controls
• Regular security reviews and system updates

Please note that barber staff account credentials are managed by the barbershop administrator.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

As a Progressive Web Application, chok.booking may use browser local storage and service workers to enable offline functionality and improve performance. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You may clear your browser storage at any time through your device or browser settings.

8. Your Rights Under Malaysian PDPA

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commissioner of Malaysia

9. Children's Privacy

chok.booking is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the App or via email. Continued use of chok.booking after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
